由佛光山發起的雲水書車每個月閱讀巡迴新竹縣內小學，學童看到書車到來，都開心的排隊等待借書閱讀，竹東鎮瑞峰國小的孩子，因為圖書館沒有書櫃與椅子，戶外與教室內是他們的閱讀場所。

從佛光山竹東大覺寺出發的雲水書車，車上圖書大多是透過善心人捐贈，家中有童書要捐贈，可聯繫大覺寺，捐書(含新書、二手書)或捐款(書車購書基金)，募書為凡有益身心之優良讀物皆可。

瑞峰國小表示，學童期待每個月書車到來，老師會帶著孩子們拿著小板凳到戶外坐著看書，目前因為學校圖書館沒有書櫃與椅子，所以孩子們就由老師帶領到讀書館借閱，並且回到教室開始閱讀。

因為校舍老舊而重新建設，新建設好的校園操場跑道，色彩美麗被稱為彩虹跑道，目前還有許多校園設備有待補足，孩子們個性樂觀、樸實，雖然圖書館設備沒有齊全，但他們還是開心的享受閱讀。
