【綜合報導】去年9月，蘋果公司發佈了錯誤百出的地圖替代iPhone的谷歌地圖，讓用戶怨聲載道，蘋果CEO庫克（Tim Cook）還特地為此道歉。自此之後，蘋果對地圖程式的投資就沒有停過，而Embark則是蘋果收購地圖公司名單中最新的一個。

《富比士》（Forbes）網站日前報導，蘋果已買進一長串與電子地圖有關的公司，科技網站AppleInsider則說，蘋果正在網上招聘80多名測繪專家，職位說明欄寫著「你需要擁有對地圖測繪的熱情、強大的測試技能，以及對當地的深厚瞭解」。蘋果今秋將發佈最新版的作業系統iOS 7，地圖功能是否會有大幅進展，也是果粉們的關注焦點。
