在此句中的where可不是疑問代名詞的「哪裡」，而是英語語法裡的「關係詞」。在語法裡，where不算像是who（代替「人」）或which（代替「物」）的這種「關係代名詞」，而是被稱為「關係副詞」。
不論是「關係代名詞」亦或是「關係副詞」，可不要被這些語法上的詞彙澆熄了你對英語學習的熱情，你只要記住where是用來修飾表示「地方」的名詞，而它是從in which、on which、at which所變化而來，快來看一個簡單的例子：
This is the restaurant, where I met my husband.（這就是我與我丈夫相遇的餐廳。）
句中的where是關係詞，修飾前面的地方──餐廳（the restaurant），而這個where可以代替為at which：
This is the restaurant, at which I met my husband.
