美國2016年總統大選熱門人物之一、前國務卿希拉蕊表示，她計畫在今年內針對美國各項政策議題發表一系列的演說，此舉顯然是位競選下任總統熱身。希拉蕊12日在舊金山出席美國律師公會會議並發表演說時指出，「民眾對大部分重要制度的信心都降到歷史低點，然而世界變動之快，使我們更需要堅持的根基。許多美國人對新聞界、銀行、運動英雄、神職人員，乃至於各種體制，都已喪失信任及信心。」
